Sunrise Estates Community Center Dedicated in Honor of Gloria Schultens

Gloria Schultens (pictured at right) brought Sunrise Estates to life in 1977 along with her husband, Ray.

Gloria Schultens, a long-time business and civic leader in The Dalles, Oregon, was honored at Sunrise Estates on October 24. The Sunrise Estates community center, a new addition from the community's extensive renovation, was named after Mrs. Schultens in a small ceremony commemorating her role in the project in 1977.

The addition of a community center has had a lasting impact on this tight-knit community in the Columbia Gorge. Signs are visible around the room advertising clubs and meetings open to all, and photography around the new gathering place celebrates the rich history of The Dalles and surrounding communities.
