April is Green Awareness month here at Guardian. We challenge you to seek out fresh green practices whether that is at your apartment community, your work place, or home! Follow along with our Weekly Initiatives below or come up with your own ways to promote green programs with residents and staff alike!
Week 1 | Adopt a Plant Week
Help improve air quality by adding a plant to your home, workspace or garden! Adding plants to interior spaces can help increase oxygen levels, improve mental and physical health and purify air. You can also get outside and garden in your yard or local community garden.
Week 2 | Eat Fresh, Local & Healthy
Help improve air quality by adding a plant to your home, workspace or garden! Adding plants to interior spaces can help increase oxygen levels, improve mental and physical health and purify air. You can also get outside and clean up your yard or local community garden.
Week 3 | Energy & Water Conservation
Set goals to conserve your energy & water use! No matter how small they seem, simple habits such as turning off lights when you leave the room, handwashing your dishes when possible, or turning electronics completely off can make a big impact. We want to hear your ideas for cutting down your energy consumption!
Week 4 | Green Transportation
This is the week to focus on alternative transportation! Can you carpool with your spouse, ride your bike or take the bus? Or, focus on conserving your trips! Once a week grocery shopping instead of daily trips can save you gas and money.
